IKEA Besta | Buffet Cabinet Hack

When designing our living room / dining room we wanted to incorporate some kind of bar or buffet cabinet. The buffet cabinets (aka sideboards) I LOVED where $1k+ which was not in our price range. That’s why we decided to head to IKEA and make one with the Besta series. This is a great option for a lower budget buffet cabinet that’s fully customizable. You buy each part separately and assemble. The only part we didn’t get from IKEA were the legs because I felt like the Besta ones looked cheap. In order to install the ones I bought on Amazon you have to drill the holes yourself – super easy!

Here is the list of all the exact pieces we purchased:

  • Besta White Base – $109
  • Besta High Gloss White Doors – $30 each (we bought 3)
  • Besta Glass Shelves – $5 each (we bought 6)
  • Besta Faux Concrete Top Panel – $30
  • Gold Legs (Amazon) – $29.88

Subtotal = $288.88!!

We love it and you can’t beat the price! If you have an questions please leave a comment below!

    Super awesome! Did you have to buy hinges for the doors? If so, how many?

      Hi Haley! Good thing I just double checked the website …I thought the hinges came with the doors but it looks like you’ll need to buy them separately! 1 door requires 1 hinge package. We bought 3 doors so we bought 3 hinge packages. Hope this helps! Send me a picture if you end up building one!

    Hi! I love this! Did you use the IKEA besta tv cabinet for this one or the regular frame with 2 + 1 & then add the “concrete” top & doors? I would love to recreate it! Thank you!

      Hi Leah! I linked the exact Besta base, doors and concrete topper we bought to build this buffet cabinet! Just be sure to double check dimensions when you go to check out! The IKEA website can be confusing sometimes. I only bought one base and one concrete top, so make sure they are the exact same size! Also, be sure to buy hinges for each door you buy ๐Ÿ™‚ Send me a picture if you recreate this buffet cabinet!
